Historic Cartagena - 9

Well, it's about time I went back to ye olden roots of this city and took pictures of the vastly more architectually interesting sites of the Old City here in Cartagena. Especially at night... when things seem to breathe a different air than they usually do... Especially here in this place. I think that it has a certain... creepiness factor here when you're actually walking through the desolate streets of the old town because in nearly every corner there's a person who has lost their homes to conflict, drugs, drinking, unemployment or a combination of any of these sleeping or eyeing you on the street...

But more than that, I think it has to do a lot more with the very "haunted" feel that this place exhudes from time to time. In the very old and decrepit secotrs within this town, there is always talk of old spirits that seem to cling to these places that fall apart yet still don't die... I appreciate these places more... adn would REALLY want to take more pictures of them, but it's such a hassle to go in there, usually... especially with the damn camera that belongs to my brother... I couldn't possibly take it over there... so for now, i'll be showing you these more "mundane" pictures, even if they are wrought with a lot of beauty

Hopefully, you'll enjoy this first view of a rather lonesome and dimly lit street with a tall cathedral spire in the background that seems to have been recently renovated... bah... I hate this city and its "renovation"... hopefully they won't screw it up with too many new things that don't belong and give them back their old glory Meow meow, hope you like this picture and you'll notice a new watermark, given that i've been warned repeatedly to do that O_o Oh well... my pictures be too ugly to steal
