Historic Cartagena - 2

Second in these series of photographs, this one is much less "active" than the prevoius one I took. I simply took a photo of what seemed to me like an interesting, yet all too common scene that is depicted within the downtown sector of the city. Since many of the buildings in that place are very old and still use very colonial and victorian architectual styles, every so often they are renovated... even if they fall to disrepair and ruin every so often...

So here, in this picture I was very close to the University of Cartagena and saw this rickety door with the many concrete bags piled on it... thinking that it was probably debris from some other one of those nameless renovation projects. The whole dillapidated scene caught my attention, conveying a sense of abandonment and oblivion... if the door bore silent witness to the decay around it as it was also being afflicted with such loneliness... But then again, you could interpret this as merely a picture of a door and some bags around it
